Overview

Cairo is an enormous city, and a group trip only touches three fixed stops. A private trip lets you build your own day: the pyramids and the Egyptian Museum as the core, then whatever you choose — the Grand Egyptian Museum, Khan el-Khalili, Coptic Cairo, the Salah El Din Citadel, the Step Pyramid at Saqqara, or Dahshur.

A private car and a private guide for your group alone, with open-ended time at each site instead of waiting for a full coach. You can travel overland (cheaper, about six hours each way) or by plane (about an hour, a far shorter day and much easier with children or older relatives).
