Overview

The right option if you want the desert without giving up your afternoon. We set off right after breakfast, when the heat is far gentler than at midday and the sand is still relatively cool.

The main part — riding the quad — takes about an hour on a clear sand track, with supervisors at the front and back of the convoy. We stop at a high point for photos and Bedouin tea, then head back.

No experience is needed: the quads are fully automatic and the briefing takes five minutes. Minimum age to ride alone is 12; younger children can ride behind a parent. You are back at your hotel before lunch with the rest of the day still ahead of you.
