Overview

Take-off is just before sunrise, and that is the whole point: the balloon rises as the first light touches the West Bank temples, so you see the Valley of the Kings, the Hatshepsut temple, the Colossi of Memnon, the green fields and the ribbon of the Nile — all from above and in complete quiet.

The flight lasts around 45 minutes with a licensed pilot and a ground crew tracking the balloon. The basket holds several groups, and the altitude changes during the flight between a low pass over the fields and a high level that opens up the whole landscape.

The programme is complete: departure from Hurghada at night, the balloon at sunrise, breakfast after landing, then the Luxor sightseeing programme (Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut temple, Karnak) before returning in the evening. Flights depend on aviation authority clearance and wind conditions, and may be moved to another day for safety reasons.
